The New Intercity Fleet of double deck trains for NSW has been officially launched by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.  At the launch, the name for the fleet was announced as being “Mariyung” which is the Darug word for Emu, and acknowledges local Aboriginal culture.

IDA has lead the Industrial Design for the new trains since 2017, creating the initial concept design and following it through into production. This great walk-through video from TfNSW features the results of our work in the interior design:
