After the success of the Fuxing CR400BF Standard EMU, CRC Changchun again chose to work with IDA’s experienced design team to support its bid to design and build a high-speed train linking Beijing and Zhangjiakou for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. IDA’s design was successfully used during the Beijing Winter Olympics and won a Red Star design award.

The winning concept was developed from initial pen sketches. We followed through with preparing concept 3D models, and then worked closely with the CRC engineers to produce detailed 3D surface models. This ensured that the design intent was maintained, and challenges overcome throughout the detail phase of the project. This design has been used to expand Chinas high speed fleet and used as the basis of its recently launched new generation smart train.
