In 2017, Hyundai Rotem commissioned IDA to develop the Industrial Design of Transport for NSW’s New Intercity Fleet. The universally praised results came through a highly collaborative process, our design team partnered closely with HRC engineers, human factors and accessibility specialists, TfNSW Customer Experience, and TfNSW Branding to deliver solutions for NSW’s most advanced and user-focused passenger train to date.

Our comprehensive design scope included Interior and Exterior Styling, Livery Design, Concept 3D Modelling, DSAPT Compliance, Design Book Renderings, Colour and Finish Specifications, 3D-Printed Mock-up Components, Customer and Crew-Facing Decal Design and Specifications, First Article Inspections, and 3D Visualisations for TfNSW media releases.

Mariyung was on display at Innotrans2024 in Gernany, representing the first time and Australian train has been featured at this international train innovation showcase.
