In 2014, IDA won the commission to design China’s first locally designed and built high speed train for China service, Our pitch won against several of Europe's top transport design houses. . Drawing inspiration from the ‘Phoenix’—a revered symbol in Chinese culture—our design embodies a striking and dynamic aesthetic that gives the train its distinctive identity.

IDA’s design successfully met all aerodynamic and functional requirements while preserving the essence of the original concept. This innovative design laid the foundation for future generations of CRH high speed trains that now form the backbone of China’s highspeed fleet.
