PROJECT:
Xiong’An 250km/h EMU
YEAR :
2020
CLIENT :
CRRC Tangshan (China)

IDA was commissioned to prepare 2 concepts for a new EMU that connected China’s new Xinog’an Area Strategic Development City to Beijing’s new Daxin Airport. The concepts had to reflect the growth and modernisation of China, and “a future full of possibilities”.

This first concept expresses connection; connection to each other, connection to the surrounds and connection to technology. Each of the concepts feature 3 Classes of travel: VIP Class, Business Class, and Travelling Class. Part of VIP classis a bookable, business meeting room.

The second concept for the 250km/h EMU is inspired by China’s rich heritage in art and design. The interior design features materials, patterns, colours, and shapes that can befound in traditional Chinese art and design, but they are interpreted in a modern way. The exterior design of Concept 2 is inspired by the red-crowned crane, which represents nobility and loyalty. It inhabits the Baiyang Lake in the Xiong’an region, and is a common element in traditional Chinese art and design.

IDA created many innovative interior layouts for the project and delivered full detail surface 3D models and hi resolution 3D visualisations of each part of the train.
